CCMT 2026: A Changing Landscape in the Machine Tool Industry

CCMT 2026 has come to a close, and we would like to thank everyone who visited the SELICA booth in Shanghai. This year's exhibition offered more than an opportunity to meet customers and introduce our machines. It also gave us a closer look at how rapidly the machine tool industry in China is evolving.

One of the most noticeable developments was the growing presence of Chinese machine tool manufacturers offering increasingly sophisticated machining solutions. From multi-axis turning and milling to automation and advanced CNC technologies, the industry is clearly moving beyond price competition toward greater technical capability.

For machine tool manufacturers worldwide, this growing competition is also a reminder that customers are looking for more than machine specifications. Long-term reliability, machining stability, application support, and overall production efficiency remain essential factors in choosing the right equipment.

At our booth, we presented the SELICA SS-20RBY Swiss-type lathe and exchanged ideas with visitors about their machining applications and production requirements. These conversations gave us valuable insights into the challenges manufacturers face today and reinforced our commitment to providing practical, reliable machining solutions.
